New Music

Recently while listening to satelite radio on the Red, Rock and Blues channel, I had the pleasure to hear Buddy Miller.  I don't know why we are not hearing this awesome music on regular radio.  You hear the same old tired and boring stuff over and over on local radio.  I love this guy and on some of his music, his wife Julie Miller, backs him up and you should hear the harmonies this husband/wife team come up with.  His mix of music combines bluegrass, blues, a little rock and country.  I downloaded 4 songs the other day off of Itunes and plan to get some more of this original music.  The 4 songs I got were:  Don't Listen to the Wind, I Can't Get Over You, QueCreek and Sometimes I Cry.  Check him out, you won't be sorry!

Be A Domestic Diva!

Go ahead and be a domestic diva!

It's cool to be a homebody!

Someone who likes to make a house a home and feather her nest!

And I'm sure not talking Martha Stewart here! Just someone who loves her home. You can cook semi-homemade and it taste just like from scratch and have time to spend with your family.

Because this love for homey things is about family and not slavery.

If you like one or more of the following things,
you might be a domestic diva: Cooking, cleaning, arranging flowers, hanging clothes out to get that fresh clean smell, gardening, decorating, paintin' rooms, ripping up carpet exposing those hardwood floors, making curtains and pillows, going antiquing, feeding the birds, and the list goes on!

Do you get up before dawn to be the first one at those early morning garage sales or stay late at those all-day farm auctions, through wind, rain, heat and sleet?  Just to get that little treasure to add to your collection or that perfect piece of furniture to finish out a room you have been redecorating.

Do you love to make people feel welcome in your home with a cup of coffee and a piece of pie?

Are the lights always on, the shades open and the welcome mat out?

Does your home smell like a fresh island breeze or spiced apple?

If this sounds like you, then you are most definitely A DOMESTIC DIVA!!

Or better yet be a:
A Proverbs 31 Woman
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
