Shammah ate my grapes!!

While walking among my grapevines, I find most of my clusters of grapes are gone!!  First I thought the culprit was squirrels because they are thick around here, but then after closer inspection, I see the honeymooner mockingbird pair hanging out on the vines all the time.  Ah, ha!  I know who to blame it on now!  About a week after I found out what had ate my lovely grapes, I was walking by and saw a cute little nest made of twigs tucked in amongst the vines.  I guess I will forgive my mockingbirds for eating all my grapes they were needing the fuel to start their little family.  I was able to snap a photo of their nest with 3 sweet  little blue speckled eggs laid in it.  It just so happened momma and daddy were neither one on guard.  For once, I could get close.  Usually they are squawking at you so loud if you get within 20' of their little home.   This little mockingbird has given us more laughs since last winter than we can count.
The Lord even cares for the birds of the air it says in the bible, so if my grapes were God's provision for them, then I'm glad they ate them!!

Climb the Sure ladder of Success

Climb the right ladder

You can either try to climb the world’s ladder to success or you can climb the ladder of the Cross to sure success!

The Cross of Jesus Christ is a plus sign, it cost Jesus everything but by His finished work on the cross, He adds to you all you could ever ask or think. Far beyond all you could dream! Being filled with Jesus Christ first and being reconciled to the Father through the Blood of the Lamb, total forgiveness of sins and right standing with our Heavenly Father. There is no blocking all of Heaven’s blessings if your relationship is restored to God through Jesus.

Matthew 6:25-33 says:

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

In your mind picture the cross and Jesus, not hanging on the cross, but standing above it at the top. On your walk in this life, when you face health problems, financial difficulties, relationships not working out, no peace, happiness or joy, etc. etc. it is so easy to focus on those things and get off on a rabbit trail seeking them. But picture these things as rungs on the cross, not something to go down and follow after but something to climb up. Something to propel you up the ladder to Jesus. Something you believe Him for but not what your focus is on. Let your focus be on Jesus and being one with Him and being filled with His Spirit. If you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus at the top, and seek Him first then all you believe Him for and all He paid the price to give you will be automatically yours when you put him first. Seek the King which is the “Kingdom”. Not what He can do for you but seek Him and Him alone. Healing, prosperity, relationships, daily needs, peace, joy, happiness, fulfillment are all fringe benefits of having Jesus. He paid the price with His blood for every one of those things.

Jacob’s ladder in Genesis 28 was a type and shadow of the Cross. It was an open passageway to the Kingdom of God. It says angels were ascending and descending up & down it. Jesus’ Cross is a ladder into the Kingdom of God. God’s supernatural provisions are available to us through the Cross. In the Lord’s Prayer, it says Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. There is no sickness, no lack, no sadness, nothing bad in Heaven. It is God’s desire that we live a victorious life here on earth. Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly here in this time.”

So when people say you have to climb the ladder of success to get ahead in this life, tell them you are climbing the ladder of the Cross, where you will meet the King of Kings and inherit the Kingdom….
